Jul 1st 2006 Jika take are taking a break for a couple of months before getting back into the rehearsal studio to write new material. Thanks for all your support!! May 12th 2006 Jika will play its last show for quite some months at the Gershwin Room on Saturday 17 June. Also playing is Long Walk Home, Creech, Taste the venom, and Best Wishes and is going to be a massive show. A huge thanks from the band to everyone who saw Jika on its last tour. The disc features live tracks from a show at the Crown and Anchor in Adelaide as well as the video clip for Mozambique, shot at the Gershwin Room Espy in Melbourne. Jika will also be performing an all ages in store at Rare Records on Sunday April 9 at 2pm. 'Just like the others' will now be available through MGM Distribution on April 10. Mar 21st 2006 JIKA LIVE CD LAUNCH Jika will be releasing a new live CD featuring tracks from the legendary 'Crown and Anchor' in Adelaide recorded on September 24 2005. The CD will be launch in Melbourne at Revolver Upstairs on April 8. Be sure to catch this show as this will be one of the band's biggest shows of the year. Dates in Sydney and Adelaide are also announced! Mar 12th 2006 Jika Trooping Out Of Iraq Since the 'Coalition' invasion of Iraq, over 100 000 Iraqi's are reported to have been killed in Baghdad alone! Friday 17 March marks the three year anniversary of the Invasion of Iraq and will be protested by a peaceful 'Troops Out Of Iraq' Rally on Friday 17 March at 5:30pm at The State Library. Jika will peform at the official after-event, an anti-war benfit at The Arthouse (cnr of Queensberry and Elizabeth St, City). All proceeds will go to independent paper Green Left Weekly. Doors will open at 8pm and entry is only $5. Also playing on the night will be a mix of latin-rock, and world music bands. Feb 13th 2006 Jika will be playing with old friends .hinge at the Spanish Club. This will be Jika's first show with the band in almost 4 years so it will be quite a treat. ] Big announcement coming shortly of a new single coming out and a national tour, keep posted!
